Northern Rivers ↔ Gold Coast Transfers

The Gold Coast is the closest big-city market to the Northern Rivers: an hour from Byron Bay in clear traffic, and the nearest airport with jet services. Bay2Coast drives this corridor in both directions every week, on a fixed fare agreed before you travel.

The journey between coast and hinterland

From Byron Bay the route runs north on the Pacific Motorway through Brunswick Heads and Chinderah, crosses the border at Tweed Heads and reaches Coolangatta in around 50 minutes. Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise add roughly 25 to 30 minutes on top.

Southbound is the same road in reverse. The one thing to plan around is the daylight-saving gap from October to April, when New South Wales runs an hour ahead of Queensland: we always work to your flight or event time, not the clock on the other side of the border.

A Northern Rivers connection

Every booking begins or finishes in the Northern Rivers, including Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Ballina, Bangalow, Suffolk Park and the wider region. Bay2Coast connects these communities with the Gold Coast rather than providing local Gold Coast-only journeys.

Fixed fares on this corridor

Gold Coast Airport routes are published below. Other Gold Coast addresses (hotels, Broadbeach, the theme parks, Robina) are quoted on actual driving distance in the booking form before you confirm.
