Brisbane Airport Transfers

Brisbane Airport is Queensland's major domestic and international gateway, and for many travellers it is where the Northern Rivers journey begins. Bay2Coast meets domestic and international arrivals at the appropriate terminal, then provides one comfortable, private door-to-door journey south to Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Ballina or the wider region at a fixed fare.

Where we meet you

Two terminals, and which one you need

Brisbane has separate domestic and international terminals, a couple of kilometres apart and connected by a shuttle and the Airtrain. That separation matters when someone is meeting you: arriving domestically and being met at international costs half an hour of confusion.

We confirm the terminal from your flight number when you book, so your driver is in the right building before you land. International arrivals are met in the arrivals hall after customs; domestic arrivals are met at the baggage claim.

Long-haul arrivals

Customs, quarantine and baggage after a long-haul flight are unpredictable, and no app-based ride waits patiently through them. Your flight is tracked, the vehicle is held, and standard waiting is up to 60 minutes from the scheduled pickup. If you land early, we are already there.

The drive south is about two hours on motorway, and a comfort stop can be built in on request. For families arriving overnight, that stop is often the difference between a bearable drive and a memorable one.

Driving times south from Brisbane

Tolls, fees and early departures

The Gateway and Logan motorways are tolled and Brisbane Airport charges for terminal access. Both are inside the fixed fare, with GST, and nothing is added at the end of the journey.

Departures work backwards from your check-in time. An early-morning international flight out of Brisbane usually means a pickup from Byron Bay between 3am and 5am, and that carries the same fixed fare as a midday journey.

Frequently asked questions

Which terminal do you collect from? Both. We confirm domestic or international from your flight number, meeting international arrivals after customs in the arrivals hall and domestic arrivals at the baggage claim.

How long does it take to reach Byron Bay from Brisbane Airport? Around two hours of driving, and closer to two and a half to Ballina, depending on traffic through Brisbane's southern suburbs.

Are tolls and airport fees extra? No. Motorway tolls, airport access fees and GST are all inside the fixed fare.

Can we stop on the way south? Yes. A comfort stop can be built into the drive on request, which many people appreciate after a long-haul flight.
