Lennox Head sits between Ballina and Byron Bay, which makes it one of the easiest places on this coast to reach and one of the least well served by public transport. Three airports are within range, and the fixed fares differ enough to be worth reading before you book flights.
Ballina airport is the closest by a long way, roughly a 20-minute drive north along the coast. Our fixed fare is $59, our lowest airport fare anywhere, and the terminal is small enough that your driver can meet you as the bags come out.
Coolangatta gives you far more flights, including some international arrivals, at the cost of about an extra 55 minutes on the road. The fixed fare to Lennox Head is $199. Remember Queensland skips daylight saving from October to April, so the terminal clock reads an hour behind Lennox Head in summer.
Brisbane has the widest timetable and is usually the sensible choice for long-haul arrivals. The drive to Lennox Head is about two hours and 25 minutes and the fixed fare is $409, including Gateway and Logan tolls, airport access fees and GST.

Departures work the same way in reverse: about 90 minutes' lead for a domestic flight out of Ballina, more for Coolangatta or Brisbane.
